Obama can't win a rigged election (HELP NEEDED)
Mon Jul 14, 2008 at 03:42:59 PM PDT
After some searching, I found a great diary about election reform that can be summed up thusly: GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASSES!
People interested in election reform and worried about stolen elections need to become judges of elections in precincts and counties all around the nation.
We need to be the observers of our elections too, since we know the mainstream media will not do it. If anyone out there is a software developer that wants to get his or her hands dirty observing (and hopefully preventing) election fraud, follow me beneath the fold.
Don't Let Them Steal Another Election

('Shorter' explained)
I posted this diary yesterday, and it slid off the list without much interest. I've decided to repost it, with a little more substance and a different title, because I think this is a very important issue (and a good idea).
I would guess that no person reading this diary fails to appreciate the risks presented by Republican dirty tricks this November. Wouldn't it be great if we could monitor the vote everywhere in the country in real time?

Guardian (UK) video shows Mugabe's vote rigging
Sat Jul 05, 2008 at 08:19:24 AM PDT
As the conditions worsen yet again in Zimbabwe, the United States and its colleagues across the globe continue to fail address the circumstances. The eerie similarities to American and world inaction during the crises in Rwanda and currently still in Darfur show a blatant lack of concern for the African continent, which has been exploited for over 500 years as nothing more than a quarry for human and natural resources. We've heard in the news about Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe's harsh brutality, as well as his apparent attempts to initiate a unification conference. The following video I will show below the fold demonstrates that such an attempt is nothing more than empty words.
Tough love to those voting for McCain because Obama stole the election from Hillary
Sun Jun 08, 2008 at 10:26:51 AM PDT
Thank you Hillary for all your achievements and for your endorsement of Obama and call for unity. Thank you Hillary supporters for your passion and hard work.
This diary is addressed to those Hillary supporters that are stating that they will vote for McCain because Obama and/or the DNC ‘stole’ the election from Hillary. Whilst I understand that you are hurting and grieving, I cannot understand the difficulty SOME of you have in your understanding that Obama won fair and square. Hillary has not had any election stolen from her!
If the fact that your candidate has lost fair and square is the reason you can find it in your conscience to vote for McCain, instead of the person with policies most similar to your candidate, that is Obama, then perhaps you have some other prejudices about Obama that you need to examine because your vote clearly has nothing to do with policies.
Surely your vote is worth more than a wasted choice made out of spite and anger, or even worse by personal prejudices that have wounded, pained and divided Americans for so many years.
Hillary will be stealing MI and FL on May 31!!
Mon May 05, 2008 at 12:42:07 PM PDT
Clinton's campaign acknowledged their plans to try and steal the Fl and MI delegates. The Clinton lackeys, who control the all important Committee, will soon be deciding to seat the disputed Michigan and Florida delegations. This little coup will take place at the Democratic Nation Convention by using the Party's Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting on May, 31. Again, a committee controlled by Clinton loyalists. In other words....like it or not they are going to seat the delegates in a manner which favors Clinton. Who cares if this is against the Party Rules which all agreed to prior to the first vote being cast. Who cares if Obama wasn't on the MI ballot? Who cares if he didn't, as agreed upon, go to FL to campaign?
When the media drops the ball, people die.

I'm well aware that could be a nyceve diary title; it's true in many ways, in all too many places. But this diary is about Zimbabwe.
Many here read DHinMI's story applauding the refusal of the Durban dockworkers to unload a shipload of Chinese arms for transshipment to Zimbabwe at the height of that country's election crisis, when its ruling regime is cracking down on the opposition with violence.
Last week, news outlets were celebrating that China had said it would recall the arms, and that China's and Zimbabwe's friend Angola (where the ship headed next) had said the arms would not be unloaded. The press declared victory, celebrated people/union power, turned off the mikes, and went home.
But guess what? Arms dealers lie.
Weapons will always find a way to those who want them, at least when public vigilance slackens, even for a minute.
Please tell the media to get back on the job. More information below, or at Sokwanele.
They just have to make it close enough to steal (updated)

Help to prevent a civil war, or massacre, in Zimbabwe
Sun Apr 20, 2008 at 06:30:44 PM PDT
Right now, there is a ship loaded with small arms trying to deliver to Zimbabwe, to the tyrannical regime of Robert Mugabe. It is likely he's ready to put down the opposition with violence, after his election turned out not to be sufficiently well rigged to let him win. Mugabe is already quite capable of brutal repression of his opposition. Several tons of armaments may turn the situation into a civil war, or a series of massacres.
Many of you will have read DHinMI's frontpage story about this yesterday, or even my diary from late Friday night, highlighting the principled stand of the dockworkers in Durban who refused to unload the ship. However, that has only delayed the delivery. They'll try again. But maybe we can help stop them at the next port, and maybe save lives.
Go to this page for up-to-date information on the ship as people find it, and for discussion of how to take action - and links.
Consciousness raising: Weapons on their way to Zimbabwe.

Edited by request to put the important stuff first.
Right now there's a ship with a cargo of armaments, trying to deliver them to Zimbabwe, pretty clearly with the intent of helping Mugabe put down the opposition after the elections he apparently couldn't win by hook or by crook. They've been turned away in South Africa, but they'll try again by way of Mozambique or elsewhere. I'd intended to hold off posting this till tomorrow morning, but the situation is dire and progressing, and action may help, so I'm posting it now.
UPDATE: The New York Times just posted a more thorough article on this even than the BBC's report. (Thanks to The Distillery for noticing it.)
UPDATE Saturday morning: The ship may be on its way to Angola now. See the end of the diary for more information and a link to the story.

Clinton: It's not a banana republic if I do it.
Fri Feb 22, 2008 at 09:51:22 AM PDT
It appears despite plastering on a friendly face in the debate the Clinton campaign has continued down the path that makes this observer think she's going to go down swinging and take the party with her if she has to.
Thanking the Oregon Democratic Party
Tue Nov 27, 2007 at 10:30:49 AM PDT
Back in 2000 and 2001, when it became increasingly clear that Bush's entry into the White House was accompanied by much fraud and that he could not be called our elected president, so much as our SELECTED president, sadly most of the Democratic Party structure allowed the bloodless coup take place with more confusion than anger. Nationally, it was really only the Congressional Black Caucus that tried to object. They couldn't even get a single Senator helping them out.
On the state level only one state Democratic Party advocated that the Party refuse to accept the stolen election: the Oregon Democratic Party. Every year around this time I try to thank the Oregon Democrats for their guts and foresight. I am asking you to do the same this year.
Gore Peace Prize Stolen by Bush Inc.
Fri Oct 12, 2007 at 12:50:36 PM PDT
Hans W. Bush, a cousin of the Resident, has pulled a few strings, and it appears that the Nobel Peace Prize is now going to go to George W. Bush, kleptomaniac -- who now insists on being called "The Prince of Peace".
When asked what he was going to do with the prize, Mr. Bush said he would like to use it as a pretext to go to war with Iran, Syria, Turkey, Blogistan, Amsterdam, and Paris. Maybe Atlantis. "But first, i think I need to clear some tumbleweeds back in Crawford. Let my brain rest a bit. Peace is hard work. Hard." And when asked what the future might bring, Bush said that he was still hoping for Baseball Commissioner.
Back at CurrentTV headquarters, Al Gore is fending off rumours that he was trying to steal the coveted prize from Bush, and an ad hoc panel of impartial Floridians told Frank Luntz that Gore should just move on. "If Bush has the prize, it's obvious he won it!", said one of the pathetic fascists.
Nobel is sweet revenge for Gore, blow to Bush
Fri Oct 12, 2007 at 12:37:09 PM PDT
Nobel is sweet revenge for Gore, blow to Bush 12 Oct 2007 Call it Al Gore's revenge. The Nobel Peace Prize he won on Friday was a blow to U.S. President [sic] George W. Bush and his widely criticized environmental policy and will long be savored by the man who lost the bitter 2000 presidential election by a whisker [won the 2000 presidential contest, but was denied the victory in the first GOP coup d'etat].
Flying the Skull & Bones: Pirates of the Potomac
Mon May 28, 2007 at 04:02:09 PM PDT
Pirates in fancy suits hijacked our country...
and our future.
As holiday moviegoers enjoy the latest "blockbuster" film, "Pirates of the Caribbean" I thought I would take a moment to capitalize on the hype in witty and clever blogger fashion.
I was remembering the way things were, just a few short years ago.
And that made me really angry.

Stolen 2004 election: Gunsmoke but no smoking gun
Wed Feb 14, 2007 at 01:32:26 PM PDT
If you have not yet read Steve Freeman's "Was the 2004 election stolen?" you should prepare yourself for a statistical analysis by an MIT PHD who has picked apart the disparities between the exit polls and the official poll counts of the 2004 presidential election and much more. The results can be likened to gun smoke surrounding the scene of a great many dead bodies with obvious gunshot wounds. Plenty of smoke but no gun slinger in sight and no smoking gun but you know what happened. You just do not know for sure who did it and how. We need to find out.
Freeman's analysis really shows that not only the 2004 election was likely stolen but that other elections involving the Bush family were too.
Truth is Speaking....Is Power Listening?

Carolyn Baker interviewed by Jason Miller
Deep crimson stains mottle the pages of humanity’s history. Untold numbers of souls who were skewered, decapitated, eviscerated, or obliterated in anonymity scream out for recognition as one peruses humankind’s memoirs. While our historical manuscript is also generously dappled by the milk of human kindness, much of our narrative is dominated by tales of man’s savage cruelty to man.
Loser...
Mon Dec 18, 2006 at 10:57:25 PM PDT
It has never escaped me when I consider - how would an administration rule a country, and respect its people - if it actually stole the election that put it into office? How would losers rule the roost? Maybe with disdain towards the country they know didn't legally elect them. Perhaps they will, like any criminal - take advantage of - or steal advantage by every lowbrow angle - to gain profit to their cronies. Likely, they will put their armed forces at risk to further their own agenda. Certainly, they will rule without respect, or regard, or common decency of the country's best interests. They would rule heartlessly, cruelly, pandering, plotting, and pissing on the their White House walls. I no long consider the possibility - now that it is so truly historical fact - details available or not. Time will always expose the true loser...
